The three-year part-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is meant for the working professionals so that they may persue higher studies while still at the job. Accordingly this programme aims at further developing the skills and capabilities of working executives and to enable them to fast climb the ladder of management hierarchy in their current organizations or to find some other good alternate career opportunities.

The main objectives of this programme are to:

  • impart theoretical and practical knowledge in all the basic and functional areas of Management
  • develop analytical, problem solving and decision making capabilities by exposing the participants to the use of various management tools and techniques
  • stimulate understanding of real business world through emphasis on cases and real life situations
  • inculcate values and attitudes which make them understanding social responsibility

The programme lays the foundation for conceptual and analytical reasoning, and gives the students an insight into the dynamics of the business environment. The course is designed towards current and emerging issues in business as well as in management. The curriculum is reviewed every year to keep it abreast with the current business environment. There is a strong emphasis on project work as a part of the course at the Institute.

Pedagogy

The institute applies an innovative and creative pedagogy to impart education to the students of this programme, which includes case-studies, project-work, field experience, assignments, quizs, seminars, role-plays, industry visits etc.

First Year

The Programme is divided into three years. Each year consists of two swemesters. The minimum marks for passing the examination for each semester shall be 45% in each paper and 50% in the aggregate of the semester. The list of papers offered shall be:

However, he/she will have to clear the remaining papers while studying in II Year.

Admission to III Year shall be open to those who have successfully cleared all the papers (including aggregate marks requirement of 50%) of I Year and at least EIGHT papers offered for the II Year Course comprising of Semester III and Semester IV taken together. However, she/he will have to clear the remaining papers of II Year while studying in III Year.
